With that spirit, Bisquit Cognac launched in South Africa with a lavish launch event held at the Crossley & Webb showroom in Cape Town. It was a wonderful evening with our host for the night Bob Mabena and guests including actor Bjorn Steinbach with his model girlfriend Alex McGregor as well as television personality, Danine Naidoo, comedian Siv Ngesi, cricketer Robin Peterson with his fiancée Portia Braaf. Also in attendance was socialites Thandie Kupe, Busi Nyeti, Rafeeka Allie and fashion blogger Jasna Zellerhoff. All guests were treated to a personalized engraved bottle of Bisquit Cognac to savour in leisure.

jo-ann strauss presents ‘online presenter search 2013’

Jo-Ann Strauss Productions (JSP) will launch the second online presenter search on 1 July 2013 during the final episode of this season’s “Glambition with Jo-Ann Strauss” on e.tv. The episode focuses on “Fast Fame” and how social media impacts the world we live in. Guests will include SA media icons Bonang Matheba, Dineo Moeketsi as well as Nondumiso Tembe, a South African actress and musician who has appeared in top international productions like “True Blood” and “NCIS”. Katryn Kruger, a South African beauty that has modeled for Vogue, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta and Prada will also be sharing her secrets to remaining grounded. She has returned to SA to complete high school after she was scouted in a shopping center at the age of 16. Buhle Moletsane, the winner of the 2012 online presenter search, will also be a guest.

The online presenter search competition encourages aspirant presenters to upload their auditions which they can record on their cellphones, smartphones, digital cameras, etc. onto YouTube and to enter via the website www.presentersearch.com. Jo-Ann held the first #OnlinePresenterSearch in 2012 which became the world’s largest competition of it’s kind with hundreds of entries being uploaded and 4 finalists being selected. The finalists traveled with Jo-Ann Strauss and Bonang Matheba to a five star resort in Zambia where they spent 3 days learning about media and honing their presenting skills. This year, the competition is open to entrants from across the African continent and auditions are to be uploaded in English and must be 30 seconds long.

The four finalists chosen will be traveling to Reunion Island with Jo-Ann and a still to be announced celebrity mentor. They will be participating in adventure sports and shooting a mini-reality series. This will be broadcast via the website http://www.presentersearch.com and the various social media channels and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite finalist and win fantastic prizes. The winner will become an online presenter for e.tv and gain valuable experience and exposure in this way. Samsung will be the main sponsor and will supply various mobile devices for the finalists to use on the island to be able to share the action via social media. The finalists will be staying at the LUX* Ile da Reunion which is the island’s only 5 star resort. They will fly there directly from Johannesburg with Air Austral.

The winner will be announced on 20 September 2013.

Stuttafords Cavendish Square launches their new-look store with the introduction of the first stand-alone Banana Republic store in South Africa today. For this event, I decided on a more semi-formal style with a jacket, formal black shoe and patent leather belt by Hilton Weiner, paired with skinny-fit Levi Strauss blue jeans and a t-shirt by Gap (for Stuttafords). reese witherspoon wears louis vuitton at the 85th academy awards

At the 85th annual Academy Awards, actress Reese Witherspoon, wore a Louis Vuitton gown and jewelry. The gown is made in Klein blue silk faille. The corset, bow and back has a black contrast trim. The gown has a Louis Vuitton bow signature on then neckline and ends with a modern bustle and train. This evening gown was made in the atelier in Paris and reveals the unique savoir-faire of the house the atelier in Paris. The ring is in white gold, onyx, and diamond and 5.02 carats, L’Ame du Voyage collection. The earrings are in white gold and diamonds, and 2.62 carats, Voyage dans le temps collection and the bracelet is in white gold and diamonds and 6.46 carats, also Voyage dans le temps collection.

my look: glamour oscars 2013 screening

It was all about glitz and glamour last night at the Glamour Oscars screening presented by Glamour Magazine SA at the elegant Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town. I was honored to attend, wearing a black tailored jacket paired with a black patent-leather belt and black lace-up shoes by Hilton Weiner and light-stone trousers by Gap (Stuttafords). The look was completed with a blue tie by Burberry, Persol sunglasses by Sunglass Hut and Louis Vuitton accessories.

my look: veuve clicquot masters polo cape town 2013

South Africa’s most glamorous polo event, The Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo Cape Town 2013 took place at Val de Vie Estate in Cape Town yesterday. I was honored to attend, wearing a dark blue tailored suit paired with a brown woven-leather belt and chocolate brown loafers by Hilton Weiner. Adding a touch of whimsy, I had a bespoke hat designed by The Little Hattery with yellow ribbon and a tiny buckle. The look was completed with a pair of Spring/Summer 2009 Louis Vuitton Sunglasses paired with Louis Vuitton accessories (bag & wallet).
