lauren wallett talks about journey on “my top billing dream”

My Top Billing Dream - Lauren Wallett

I sat down with Lauren Wallett at the luxurious 15 On Orange Hotel in Cape Town to talk about her time on SABC3‘s “My Top Billing Dream” Reality Show. The third contestant voted off last week, Lauren has remained as confidant and driven as ever after the elimination. A trained actor, hailing from Durban, Lauren taught at her own performing arts school, which she attributes to giving her confidence to peruse her dreams, “I had a performing arts school for children, very much focused on building confidence and I’m still very passionate about that,” says Wallett.

“I feel that I’ve become more and more myself. I don’t see this as my chance to be famous, I want to be a working presenter, working actress,” says Lauren. Having been a part of the top 10 for 4 weeks and experiencing a whirlwind of the excitement, long hours, hard work and glamour of the industry, Lauren’s advise to others is that “It’s very important to remain true to yourself and not get swayed by anybody. Be yourself,” and continues, “You need to know who you are, because it’s going to test you completely. I’m going to carry on, now I’m certain.”

The Top 7 contestants are Chamendran Naidoo, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Lauren Blackwell, Khanya Ngumbela, Lynelle Kenned, Greg Kriek and Zama Ngcobo.

It was an evening of fashion and style as the My Top Billing Dream‘ Fashion Show took place at Canal Walk, Cape Town last night. SABC3 Top Billing presenters, Jeannie D, Jo-Ann Strauss and Lorna Maseko introduced the top eight finalists as the glamorous fashion show got underway, showcasing some of Canal Walk Shopping Mall‘s top clothing stores’ trends. The show drew an amazing crowd of ‘My Top Billing Dream’ fans as the finalists took part in the fashion show to the smooth sounds of Cape Town based band, GoodLuck. The perfect opportunity to talk directly to their fans, all the contestants remained poised and elegant through out the show, proving once more that they deserve their place in the top eight.

I had a chance to chat with the contestants after the fashion show and it was clear that each of them have their place in the top eight.
