talking film – robert pattinson in ‘cosmopolis’

Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Cosmopolis

Based on the novel by Don DeLillo, Robert Pattinson has been cast as the lead in director David Cronenberg‘s film adaptation of ‘Cosmopolis‘, which has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Just after wrapping the final installment of the ‘Twilight‘ series, “Breaking Dawn“, Pattinson started work on the new film with the cast including, Juliette Binoche, Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Durand. Pattinson plays Eric Packer, a 28-year-old billionaire asset manager who races across Manhattan in a stretch limo to get a haircut but his day devolves into an odyssey with a cast of characters that start to tear his world apart. “It was amazing. The whole movie is pretty much in a car, in the back of a car and with this incredible cast,” says Pattinson and continues about the director, “David is such an incredibly confidant film maker. I’ve never really done a movie where there’s no pressure from the director from anywhere, apart from the pressure he puts on himself. And so you really know that at the end of the day it’s going to be his movie and nobody else’s mess of it, and it’s a great feeling.”
