all about fashion at the met gala 2012

Fashion’s finest came out to play at the Met Gala 2012 in New York, often referred to as referred to as “fashion’s Oscars“. Beyoncé Knowles took the spotlight at the A-list event, after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January, the 30-year-old’s figure looked sensational in her sheer sequin Givenchy Haute Couture gown. When asked by a reporter at the event about having more children, Beyoncé replied “I definitely want to have more. I don’t know how many. God knows I don’t know yet.” Gala chairs, Anna Wintour (editor in chief of Vogue magazine), Carey Mulligan and Muccia Prada received guests including Clare Danes, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kanye West, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Rihanna, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Scarlett Johansson, Lea Michele and Rihanna at the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s annual ball, dressed in haute couture. Justin Timberlake, wearing a Tom Ford tuxedo attended the event with his fiancée, Jessica Biel. the j&b met 2012 ‘made different’

The J&B Met was certainly ‘Made Different‘ this year, with ensembles created from pure imagination showcasing South Africa’s unique talent and incomparable fashion. With the race well underway and many poised to bet on their lucky horse, Jeannie D took our breath away wearing a simple, elegant and timeless dress by Kluk CGDT. Adding a dash of colour, Jo-Ann Strauss, wearing a gorgeous Stefania Morland dress, dazzled. Wearing a whimsical fascinator, Jennifer Su selected the perfect pair of red Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses from Sunglass Hut to compliment her stunning dress by House Of Fashion as she joined Jo-Ann Strauss, Janez Vermeiren, Cindy Nell, Ryan Harrison and Natalie Becker at the Sungless Hut Inner Circle luxury marquee, where all things luxury was on the menu.

Looking absolutely stunning in black & white, Bonang Matheba graced the SABC marquee along with television stars including Kia Johnson – who recently announced her pregnancy, Leigh-Anne Williams, Zikhona Sodlaka, Boitumelo Thulo, Charles Tertiens, Chantal Stanfield to name a few.
